Beacon SweetSpot Field Tamp Head

Beacon SweetSpot field tamp heads are offered in four different, interchangeable plate sizes that are designed to work with the SweetSpot tamp handle (sold separately below). The SweetSpot tamp head and handle combination features an articulating design where the handle articulates 6° off of center in all directions allowing the tamp head to self-correct and apply a firm, square hit at every surface angle. This articulating design is especially helpful on the slope of a pitcher's mound. The separately sold SweetSpot tamp handle is manufactured with dampening technology, much like a dead blow hammer. The handle is filled with 1-1/2 pounds of steel shot to ensure that all the downward energy of the tamp is fully transferred into the ground and not back into the operator's arms and shoulders by recoil and vibration. By comparison, tamps with rigid handles often hit a sloped pitcher's mound at wrong angles, sending jarring vibrations back into the operator's arms and shoulders, increasing fatigue and potentially causing injuries. In addition, tamps with rigid handles are significantly heavier than the lightweight and efficient SweetSpot tamp. Less weight in the tamp means less fatigue and greater productivity. The interchangeable SweetSpot tamp heads give groundskeepers an ample field maintenance arsenal to efficiently handle any surface condition.
